Two fully built race engines in 2 years which was well over $25k down the drain and hundreds of hours of blood sweat and tears. Both my sanity and my wallet needed a break. I parked the car did some investigation and when I found the broken cam shaft I pretty much knew there is little chance of resurecting it for 2023. The problems were several:
- First of it broke. It can't run until it's fixed (duh)
- I had justified fixing the last engine by saying "doing it right with the dry sump will make it last"
- I promised not to spend significantly in 2022 after the 2021 build one, declared a mulligan and swore to keep cost down for 2 years to compensate
- I was litterally doing almost nothing but working on the car preparing for races and racing for a solid 8 months prior, and at least 14 of the prior 24 months. There IS more to life than racing
So I took a break and did some other stuff...
-
I learned to fly a plane
-
I traveled to China to see where my wife grew up
-
I published a fantasy fiction book.
